Ways to Give
Thank you for your interest in giving a gift to the University of the Arts. Your contribution directly impacts the lives of our students and plays an essential role in our ability to fulfill our mission to educate the creative leaders of the future.
Whether participating in the Annual Fund, providing funds for scholarships to benefit the talented students who could not otherwise attend UArts, or supporting the facilities and academic initiatives that are a hallmark of a world-class education – your commitment is essential to our success and the success of our students.
There are many areas at UArts that will benefit from your generosity. To learn more about how to make a gift, please use the links on the right or call the Advancement Office at 215-717-6140.
The Charitable IRA Rollover Expires on December 31 - Act Now!
If you are 70½ or older, under the American Taxpayer Relief Act you can make tax-free distributions up to $100,000 directly from your IRA for qualified charitable purposes. Rather than taking your taxable required minimum distribution, you can direct some or all of those dollars to the University of the Arts. Your donation will not be subject to federal tax and may count towards meeting your mandatory annual withdrawal.
You may contribute funds from your IRA to the University of the Arts if:
- you are age 70½ or older and are the owner of the IRA (beneficiary IRAs are excluded)
- you give no more than a total of $100,000 per year ($200,000 for couples)
- you complete the gift on or before December 31, 2013
- you direct the transfer of funds directly from an IRA (you cannot withdraw the funds yourself)
Act now! To make a gift, you may direct your IRA trustee or custodian to transfer your desired gift amount to UArts. For more information, please consult your tax advisor or contact Anisa Haidary, director of Major Gifts & Special Projects, by calling 215-717-6147.
