My professional history includes healthcare administration roles (including assisting with the planning, organization and development of a new adult day center), therapeutic programming and recreation, and regular dance/movement therapy facilitation. For the past several years, I have been facilitating regular dance/movement therapy sessions on a freelance basis with mild to severely cognitively and physically impaired older adults at several facilities including: LIFE UPenn, Penn Center for Rehabilitation and Care, Atria Senior Living and NewCourtland Elder Services (with whom UArts Dance students have recently collaborated).

Volunteer/Leadership Roles

To whom it may concern:

I am a UArts alum (BFA Dance Education, 2000) and have been a registered dance/movement therapist (MA, Dance/Movement Therapy; Drexel, 2002) with over 12 years of experience working in various types of healthcare establishments such as long-term care/dementia units, retirement and assisted living communities, and adult day centers in and around the city of Philadelphia. I am a member of the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA) and have supervised student interns from Drexel University’s Creative Arts in Therapy department. I have in-depth experience with multiple regulatory, funding and licensing entities.

Given my experience within these various roles, I feel that I can represent both traditional as well as non-traditional career paths within the arts and arts-related fields. I am organized and self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively to achieve and implement goals/objectives within the structure of various organizations.

In addition, I have been involved with UArts in multiple ways over the past couple of years including Alumni Career Panel participation (October, 2011) and guest lecturing at the School of Dance (February, 2013). My husband, Josh Levitas, is currently serving on the UArts Alumni Council. I would love the opportunity to serve as well!

Thank you for your consideration,
