As the Director of International Student Programs, I am looking forward to helping you have a successful and rewarding college experience. Our International Student/ESLI Orientation is designed to give you a smooth and enjoyable transition to your life in Philadelphia and at the University of the Arts.

International Student Orientation Spring 2013 Schedule

Tuesday, January 14th- Wednesday, January 15th 2013

Tuesday, January 14th 

9:00 am - 5:00 pm:  Arrival and Move-In

**REQUIRED for all students living in the Residence Halls

**Recommended for all off-campus International Students. Off-Campus students should report to 412 Gershman Hall for check-in.

Please arrive at your assigned Residence Hall. An International Student Orientation Leader will be there to help you move in and accompany you to the office of International Student Programs so that you can complete your check-in, which includes

  • Receiving Orientation packet with important updates and event locations
  • Obtaining your student ID - your ID will be ready if you have sent your photograph according to the instructions available here https://photoid.uarts.edu/. If you were not able to send your photograph, we will order your ID
  • Campus Tour
  • Document Registration

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm:  Dinner - Levitt Foyer, 3rd Floor Gershman Hall

**REQUIRED for all students living in the Residence Halls

**Recommended for all off-campus International Students

  • Overview of F-1 Visa Regulations and Document Registration
  • Strategies for Adapting to life in Philadelphia and at UArts
  • Stories and advice by current international students  

Wednesday, January 15th

10:00 am - 3:00 pm:  English and Writing Proficiency Tests

**REQUIRED for most International students

10:00 am - 12:00 pm:  English Proficiency Test -  411 Gershman Hall

12:00 pm - 1:00 pm:  Lunch - Levitt Foyer, 3rd Floor Gershman Hall

1:00 pm - 3:00 pm:  Writing Test -  415 Gershman Hall

 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm: Philadelphia City Tour, Shopping Trip, and Dinner
