Caplan Center

The Design, Art & Technology (DAT) program presents a free-and-open-to-the-public performance by experimental electronic musician Lesley Flanigan. She will also be conducting two workshops: one on Amplification circuits, the other on creating a "Noise Toy." The workshops are open to 10 teams or individuals free of charge. Please contact Interim DAT Director Chris Garvin to register.

Amplification Circuits Workshop: October 5, 11 a.m.
Noise Toy Workshop: October 6, 11 a.m.

Lesley Flanigan is an experimental electronic musician living in New York City. Inspired by the physicality of sound, she builds "speaker feedback instruments" using minimal electronics, microphones and speakers. In "Amplifications," she performs feedback from these instruments alongside her voice, creating a kind of physical electronic music that embraces both the transparency and residue of process – sculpting sound from a pallet of noise and subtle imperfections.
