Degrees of Design: Student Work from Local Architecture + Design Schools

Twenty-nine photos from the Industrial Design program’s recent Kenya research trip are included in this annual exhibition, which highlights the creative work occurring in educators’ studios around Philadelphia.

"Degrees of Design" represents the diversity of pedagogical philosophies and teaching techniques among the participating schools, which also includes Drexel University, Philadelphia University, Temple University, and Moore College of Art and Design.

Led by ID Associate Professor Mike McAllister MID '02 (Industrial Design) and ID Senior Lecturer Will McHale MID '10 (Industrial Design), the work from UArts highlights the ID program’s human-centered approach and stands apart in clear distinction from the other schools.

An opening reception and panel discussion featuring local firms talking about what skills and attributes they look for when hiring young architects and designers will take place on Thursday, February 6.

Opening Reception: February 6, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Panel Discussion: February 6, 6 p.m.
