Museum Studies Alumni Launch Pop-Up Exhibit Project
Rosenbach Museum is Project Meanwhile's first collaboration
November 19, 2013
A team of recent alumni from the MFA in Museum Exhibition Planning & Design program have launched Project Meanwhile, a theatrical, thought-provoking social experience that supplements a local exhibition in a pop-up location. This exciting new project was made possible with the support of the University’s Corzo Center for the Creative Economy.
The Meanwhile design collective features Meghann Hickson MFA '13 (Museum Exhibition Planning & Design), Brittany Schrum MFA '13 (Museum Exhibition Planning & Design), Daria Gradusova MFA '13 (Museum Exhibition Planning & Design), Karl Allen MFA '12 (Museum Exhibition Planning & Design), Liz Russell MFA '12 (Museum Exhibition Planning & Design) and Maya Hartman MFA '14 (Museum Exhibition Planning & Design).
The team’s first project focuses on the William Henry Ireland Shakespeare forgeries, a series of bound manuscripts within the Rosenbach of the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation’s collection.
Collaborating with different organizations and institutions within the Philadelphia community, the purpose of Project Meanwhile is to not only create a new way to experience museum exhibitions, but to also open an institution’s visitor base so more people can explore its vast collections and stories.
