Center for Emerging Visual Artists Honors UArts President Sean T. Buffington

University's leader will receive Bebe Benoliel Founders Award at CFEVA's 12th Annual Benefit on April 3

The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA) will honor UArts President Sean T. Buffington at its 12th Annual Benefit set for April 3 at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia (215 South 16th Street).

Buffington will receive the Bebe Benoliel Founders Award for an Outstanding Arts Collaborator during a cocktail reception and awards presentation that will feature live music, an auction and an art sale.

Buffington has served as president of UArts since 2007 and has led the development of the University's new academic vision. Before coming to Philadelphia, he was associate provost for Arts and Culture at Harvard University. He serves on the boards of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, the Kimmel Center and the Arts & Business Council, and is the chairman of the Philadelphia Art Commission. Buffington graduated summa cum laude from Harvard in 1991 with a degree in English and Afro-American studies and earned a Master of Arts degree in American culture from the University of Michigan in 1994.

The CFEVA's 12th Annual Benefit is co-sponsored by the University of the Arts.
