Painting Alum Featured in New York City Group Show

The work of Jonathan Lyndon Chase BFA ’13 (Painting) is included in Embodiment, a show they’ll share with Pope.L, Cheyenne Julien and Tschabalala Self at Mitchell-Innes & Nash in New York City, Sept. 12–Oct. 26, 2019. The exhibit explores the different ways in which representations of the body is viewed and depicted in two-dimensional works.
“With their renderings of bodies animated in dance, play and chore, Chase and Julien allow us to glimpse the dynamic experiences and rich inner lives of their subjects,” the gallery’s press release notes.
Chase has had some astounding success over the past year: Three museums purchased his work during this year’s Armory show, and in 2018 Chase had back-to-back sellout exhibits.
