Lewis Colburn is a sculptor and installation artist based in Philadelphia. He received his BA in Studio Art and Russian Language from St. Olaf College in 2005, and his MFA in Sculpture from Syracuse University in 2009. In addition to teaching in the Core Studies program, Lewis maintains the Sculpture facilities at the University of the Arts and curates the University’s Hamilton Hall Public Art Initiative. He has previously taught at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia.
Recent solo and group exhibitions include “HERE” at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and “The Practical Romantic” at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. Lewis recently completed the Career Development Fellowship at the Center for Emerging Visual Artists and is currently a member of NAPOLEON, an artist-run project space in Philadelphia’s Rollins Building.
