Karl Staven animates.
Biography
Karl Staven is an associate professor who has taught at UArts for a quarter century. He has created more than 30 independent animated films since 1985 using a variety of techniques and styles. These films have been screened at festivals such as the Ottawa International Animation Festival, Canada; Melbourne International Film Festival, Australia; Cinanima, Espinho, Portugal; ReAnimacja, Lodz, Poland; Animac, Catalonia, Spain; Ann Arbor Film Festival, Michigan; Black Maria Film Festival, New Jersey; and Los Angeles Animation Celebration, California. He has made hand-drawn, 3-D computer, puppet, stop-motion, cutout and cel films.
